EMDR THERAPY IN OREGON

Guided support for processing overwhelm

You often wonder how your body would feel without the stress and overwhelm.

You’ve heard about this thing called EMDR…but what is it exactly?

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a powerful type of therapy that allows people to process intense things they’ve experienced, whether it’s stress, trauma, anxiety, or a variety of other experiences. EMDR helps the body and the mind process these past intense experiences and move from a state of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn to a state of more grounded presence within oneself.

I work with millennial professionals to address frustrating, confusing, or possibly even traumatizing patterns at work, in their interpersonal relationships, and within their family/cultural lineage. If you’re drawn to working with me, you’re likely someone who’s in touch with their emotions, a high achiever (looking at you, my fellow “pleasure to have in class” people!), and ready to do the work of self-exploration.

You’re tired of feeling caught in the cycle of:

  • A sense of stuck-ness in your relationships and at work

  • Resentment and frustration with how you’re treated and how you hold back your reactions

  • Minimizing what you’re going through because you’re worried about what others in your life are going through

how i can help

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, aka EMDR

I sometimes joke with my clients that I can get nerdy about EMDR, because I love seeing how transformative it can be for people. EMDR is particularly effective for people who want to go beyond talk therapy. I guide clients through addressing the negative beliefs they have about themselves to feeling deeper connection with their inner calm, compassion, and confidence.

If you’re wondering what my training background is with EMDR, I completed my EMDRIA-approved EMDR training, as well as Flash Technique training, and attend EMDR-specific consultation.

Though EMDR is my primary modality, I also utilize relational-cultural theory and parts work in my clinical practice.

imagine if you…

Accessed your sense of true grounding

When we’re stuck in the flight, freeze, or fawn, we sometimes mistake them for “calm”. Spoiler alert: they’re not the same as calm or grounding! Gain the skills to access your sense of calm and know when it feels safe so that the nervousness or fear doesn’t overtake you anymore.

Could have a space to process the “difficult” feelings

Have guidance through voicing, feeling, and then moving through the worry, frustration, confusion, or trauma.

Felt like you could share with loved ones

Grow your confidence with being vulnerable and modeling healthy boundaries.
